Tours with several stops

Status as of 16.10.2026, applies to uGo 1.0.16 to 1.0.24 on uServe and uLog robots (the tours page is the same in all these versions, see Release notes). The German version follows below: Tour mit mehreren Punkten anlegen.

For customers

Written for customers and operators of URG systems. This page may be shared.

A tour is a sequence of stops: the robot drives to stop 1, waits there, drives on to stop 2, and so on to the last stop — once, or as an endless loop. The URG service or a trained partner sets the tour up once with the technician login. Operators then start and stop it on the start screen in the Routines tile; they need no login for that.

Before you start

  • The robot is localised on the active map, and every place the tour should visit exists on that map as a point. Stops are chosen from the points of the active map. Doors, gates, lifts, lift waiting points and charging stations cannot be chosen as a stop.
  • You know the technician password of the robot. An operator login is not enough to change tours.
  • The pages Touren (tours) and Regeln (rules) follow the language chosen in uGo, like the start screen, the Technician Page and the Routines tile; so do the messages of a running tour. The labels below are given as on the German screen, with the English meaning in brackets.

Step 1 — Open the tours page

  1. On the start screen tap Service at the top right. The Technician Page opens (German interface: Technikerseite).
  2. If the page says "Not logged in.", tap Log in, enter the technician password and tap Anmelden (log in). The session ends after ten minutes without access.
  3. At the top of the Technician Page tap Tours (German interface: Touren). The page Touren und Routinen (tours and routines) opens.

Step 2 — Create the tour and add the stops

  1. Tap Neue Tour (new tour) at the bottom of the page. A new block "Tour 1" (or the next number) appears.
  2. Name der Tour (name of the tour): enter a name the operators will recognise, up to 80 characters.
  3. Halt hinzufügen (add stop): open the list Punkt wählen … (choose point) and choose the first point. The stop is added at the end of the list.
  4. Repeat step 3 for every further point. A tour holds up to 50 stops; the same point may be used more than once.
  5. Check the order. The robot drives the stops from top to bottom. ▲ and ▼ next to a stop move it up or down; entfernen (remove) takes the stop out of the tour.

Step 3 — Per stop: wait time or confirmation

Setting Effect
warten (s) (wait, seconds) The robot waits this long at the stop, then drives on. A new stop starts with 5 s; 0 means drive on at once; at most 3600 s.
auf Bestätigung (wait for confirmation) The robot waits at the stop until someone confirms — on the start screen with Continue in the Routines tile (German interface: Weiterfahren), or on the tours page with Halt bestätigt, weiterfahren (stop confirmed, drive on). When this box is ticked, the wait time of this stop is not used.
Pallet (German interface: Palette) Only on a uLog Lift with lift and only at a pallet place: none, pick up or set down (German interface: keine, aufnehmen, ablegen). The robot lifts and lowers at this stop by itself, without confirmation. This choice is shown in the language of the tablet.

Step 4 — Per tour: loop and charging station

Setting Effect
Dauerschleife (endless loop) After the last stop the robot starts again at stop 1, until someone stops the tour. Only then does Pause zwischen Runden (s) (pause between rounds, 0 to 3600 s) appear.
Am Ende zur Ladestation (to the charging station at the end) After the last stop the robot drives to the charging station. This applies to a tour without endless loop: an endless loop ends only with Tour anhalten (stop tour), and then the robot does not drive to the charging station.

Step 5 — Save

  1. Tap Alle Touren speichern (save all tours) at the bottom of the page. The page confirms "Die Touren sind gespeichert." (the tours are saved).
  2. Changes that are not saved are lost when you leave the page. Until a new tour is saved it shows "Neu — erst speichern, dann lässt sie sich fahren." (new — save first, then it can be driven).
  3. Tour löschen (delete tour) removes a tour from the page; it is gone for good only after Alle Touren speichern.

If saving is refused, the message names the reason: "Nicht angemeldet — …" (not logged in): log in again as in step 1. "Ändern darf nur der Techniker — …" (only the technician may change this): log in with the technician password instead of the operator password.

Step 6 — Test drive

Start a tour only when someone stands next to the robot and the emergency stop is within reach.

  1. On the tours page tap Diese Tour jetzt fahren (drive this tour now) in the block of the tour. The button works once the tour is saved, has at least one stop and no other tour is running.
  2. The block Jetzt unterwegs (on the way now) shows the tour, "Halt 2 von 4" (stop 2 of 4) with the name of the stop and, in an endless loop, the round.
  3. Check every stop, the wait time or confirmation, and the end of the tour.

Daily operation: start and stop on the start screen

Return to the start screen with Zur Bedienung (operator view). The Routines tile (German interface: Routinen) lists every saved tour with its number of stops; Start (Starten) runs it. The tile reads the list when the start screen opens.

Button in the Routines tile (German interface) Button on the tours page Effect
Pause (Pause) Pause The robot stops where it is and remembers the stop; the wait time does not continue.
Continue (Fortsetzen) Fortsetzen The robot drives to the same stop again.
Continue (Weiterfahren) — only at a stop with confirmation Halt bestätigt, weiterfahren The robot drives on to the next stop.
Stop (Anhalten) Tour anhalten The tour ends. The next start begins at stop 1. No login is needed.

In English both Fortsetzen and Weiterfahren read Continue: the first appears after Pause, the second at a stop with confirmation.

Good to know

  • If the robot cannot reach a stop, it skips it and drives to the next one. If every stop fails one after the other, the tour ends.
  • If a point has been removed from the active map, the tours page marks the stop with "— dieser Punkt liegt nicht mehr auf der aktiven Karte" (this point is no longer on the active map). Remove that stop and add the current point, then save.
  • No tour starts while the robot follows a person (Follow me with the wristband).
  • The stops of a tour do not announce the arrival; see Voice announcements and driving warning.
  • A tour can also start at a time of day or at the press of a call button: page Regeln (rules), see Call buttons with light — commissioning.
  • From uGo 1.0.30, with the rule Return to the charging station switched on: a stop with wait for confirmation that nobody confirms within the set time ends the tour there, and the robot drives directly to the charging station. The Routines tile counts down beforehand and offers Stay here. See Technician manual — Return to the charging station.

Fortsetzen Fortsetzen Der Roboter fährt denselben Halt neu an.
Anhalten Tour anhalten Die Tour endet.
