Installation and updates of uGo

Technical reference for IT departments, URG technicians and trained partners. It is not written as operating instructions for end users.

Who installs and updates

uGo is installed and updated by the URG service or by a trained partner. Operators do not install anything themselves.

What the operator provides

  • The network according to the IT notes and the network requirements.
  • The releases in the firewall according to the port table in Site computer and building, § 5.1.
  • Where the building is connected (doors, lift, call buttons): a protected network segment for the u-IoT modules.

First setup

  1. The tablet is set up with the service package: operator interface, kiosk mode, network guard.
  2. The device joins the uSuite — data in Europe, data centre Frankfurt.
  3. The map is recorded, the robot is localised, the charging station is created — see Record a map.
  4. Optional: doors, lift, call buttons.
  5. Acceptance and handover with the acceptance list — see Acceptance.

Updates

  • From 1.0.9 onwards, an update keeps all data.
  • Devices with 1.0.8 or older are set up again once by the service.
  • Current version: uGo 1.0.28 (30.10.2026). All versions are listed in the Release notes.
  • Every version is accepted on devices before it is delivered.

Update to uGo 1.0.28

Done by URG technicians and trained partners. The URG service provides the installation file and its SHA-256 checksum in the release kit.

  1. The robot is parked, no tour is running, and the battery level is above 30 %.
  2. Check the checksum of the installation file on a computer. If it does not match: do not install.
  3. Copy the checked file into the Download folder of the tablet.
  4. On the tablet, open the Files app › Download, tap the file and choose Update. If Android offers a fresh installation instead of an update, or reports "App not installed" or a conflict: stop and contact the URG service. Never uninstall and never clear the app data — maps, tours and settings would be lost.
  5. Technician page: the version shown is 1.0.28. On the u-IoT card, the field u-IoT bridge address is filled; if it is empty, contact the URG service before the first door ride.
  6. First rides through every door only with a person at the emergency stop: slowly, three passes per door without intervention, a video of each door. See Doors through the u-IoT bridge.

The update keeps tours, maps, rules and settings; the signature of the app is the same as in 1.0.27. The way back to 1.0.27 is done only by the URG service, not on the tablet.

Wer installiert und aktualisiert

uGo installiert und aktualisiert der URG-Service oder ein geschulter Partner. Betreiber installieren nichts selbst.

Was der Betreiber bereitstellt

  • Das Netz nach den IT-Hinweisen und den Netzwerkanforderungen.
  • Die Freigaben in der Firewall nach der Porttabelle in Standortrechner und Gebäude, § 5.1.
  • Bei Gebäudeanbindung (Türen, Aufzug, Ruftaster): ein geschütztes Netzsegment für die u-IoT-Module.

Ersteinrichtung

  1. Das Tablet wird mit dem Service-Paket eingerichtet: Bedienoberfläche, Kiosk-Modus, Netzschranke.
  2. Das Gerät tritt der uSuite bei — Daten in Europa, Rechenzentrum Frankfurt.
  3. Die Karte wird aufgenommen, der Roboter lokalisiert, die Ladestation angelegt — siehe Karte aufnehmen.
  4. Optional: Türen, Aufzug, Ruftaster.
  5. Abnahme und Übergabe mit der Abnahmeliste — siehe Acceptance.

Updates

  • Ab 1.0.9 behält ein Update alle Daten.
  • Geräte mit 1.0.8 oder älter richtet der Service einmal neu ein.
  • Aktuelle Fassung: uGo 1.0.28 (30.10.2026). Alle Fassungen stehen in den Versionshinweisen.
  • Jede Fassung wird vor der Auslieferung an Geräten abgenommen.

Update auf uGo 1.0.28

Durch URG-Techniker und geschulte Partner. Der URG-Service stellt die Installationsdatei und ihre SHA-256-Prüfsumme im Release-Kit bereit.

  1. Der Roboter ist abgestellt, keine Tour läuft, der Akkustand liegt über 30 %.
  2. Die Prüfsumme der Installationsdatei an einem Rechner prüfen. Stimmt sie nicht: nicht einspielen.
  3. Die geprüfte Datei in den Ordner Download des Tablets kopieren.
  4. Am Tablet die App Dateien › Download öffnen, die Datei antippen und Aktualisieren wählen. Bietet Android statt eines Updates eine Neuinstallation an oder meldet es „App nicht installiert“ oder einen Konflikt: abbrechen und den URG-Service ansprechen. Nie deinstallieren und nie die App-Daten löschen — Karten, Touren und Einstellungen gingen verloren.
  5. Technikerseite: Die angezeigte Fassung ist 1.0.28. Auf der Karte u-IoT ist das Feld Adresse der u-IoT-Brücke gefüllt; ist es leer, vor der ersten Türfahrt den URG-Service ansprechen.
  6. Erste Fahrten durch jede Tür nur mit einer Person am Not-Halt: langsam, je Tür drei Durchfahrten ohne Eingriff, je Tür ein Video. Siehe Türen über die u-IoT-Brücke.

Das Update behält Touren, Karten, Regeln und Einstellungen; die Signatur der App ist dieselbe wie bei 1.0.27. Den Rückweg auf 1.0.27 geht nur der URG-Service, nicht am Tablet.
